What makes life meaningful: success or love? This dilemma is faced by Joachim, a fulfilled man approaching the end of his life, and a young mathematical genius, David, Joachim’s cousin. David is immersed in his scientific research and teaching. Joachim would like to donate his wealth to David, but the latter refuses, since he wants to remain poor but happy. Meanwhile word spreads that David is now very rich, and the young researcher finds himself kidnapped for ransom!
